Cornea & keratoconus
Scleral lenses for keratoconus, post-surgical corneal ectasia, severe dry eye, and irregular corneas. Custom-designed lenses, multi-visit fittings.
What we do
Scleral lenses are large-diameter rigid gas-permeable contact lenses that vault over the cornea and rest on the white of the eye. They are the optical and therapeutic answer for corneas that don't accept standard contact lenses — keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, post-surgical ectasia (LASIK, RK), severe dry eye, neurotrophic keratitis.
Dr. Curtis Ono has decades of experience fitting challenging specialty contact lenses including rigid gas permeable and scleral lens designs. Dr. Jennifer Andrews has spent two decades managing complex contact lens fits and dry eye disease across the Seattle community.
A scleral lens fitting is not a single visit. The initial assessment, lens design, dispensing, and adaptation period typically span three to five visits. The result, for the right patient, is vision they have not had in years.
